Third Volume of the Sidetrack Mixtape Serie: a potpourri of some of my all time favourite songs. Tracks by Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Fairport Convention, Jimi Hendrix and many more. Enjoy!
Second Volume of the to me very special Sidetracks Mixtapes Serie. The concept is the same, putting together (in a as seamless way as possible) some of my all time favorite songs: And again it's about the intense listening pleasure & relaxing entertainment.
The idea behind this mixtape serie "Sidetracks" was to put together (in a as seamless way as possible) some of my all time favorite songs of various music styles that I can hear over and over, for some of them without losing the ability to give these specials shivers. On the other hand, the selected songs had also to have the potential to be listened at en passant, while for instance at work or doing anything focused. The challenge: Intense listening pleasure & relaxing entertainment.
Finally, I may present this 7th lounge mix which took me so long to finalise. I started with Clara Hill's 'Be Like That' which was released in 2007 and added melodious tunes from Beauty Room, [Re:Jazz], Eve Mendes and Grazia. To reflect some cool flavour, I added songs from Vincenzo, Menoosha and Sweetback and selected Bomb The Bass' 1988 remake of 'Say A Little Prayer' as the classic song of this mix. It took quite a while to figure out the right track order. However, I finally succeeded with the mix and I hope that you like the result. Hoop-C.
This is another Downtempo Mix I finally managed to finish just on time befor christmas. It's more Jazz/Funk orientated.
This mix is dedicated to new artists like Stee Downes, Feist, Trinah, Gabin, Bliss or Florens, which I have not included in a lounge mix so far. Don't you agree that every song has deserved its appearence? Moreover, you will find known artists like Blue Six and Morcheeba in this mix but also special songs like Hildegard Knef’s 'Wer War Froh, Dass Es Dich Gab' and Victor Davies' 'End Of Time' - the first being famous for the lyrics, the second for Victor's voice. Please also pay attention to the classic songs, Kelee Patterson's 'Magic Wand Of Love' from 1973 and Dusty Springfield's 'The Look Of Love' from 1967. If there was ever a song in music history that said 'sex', the latter it is. Hoop-C.
It is always a demanding task to look out for different artists that share a specific style of music. You will probably agree that artists like Goldfrapp, Tone Loc, Norah Jones or Clara Hill do not have much in common at first sight. However, in combination they serve the same mood and create a relaxing and warming flow of music. Most titles on this 5ths edition of lounge mixes were released in 2007 or 2006 but as always I have also included some classic songs like Tone Loc's 'All Through The Night' from 1991 and Shirley Bassey's 1970 cover version of 'Light My Fire' which was originally released by The Doors in 1967. My personal favourite on this mix is Goldfrapp's 'Pilots (On A Star)' - not typical for Goldfrapp, but famous for me. Enjoy!
When I collected the songs for this mix I started with tunes like Aya's "Nobody Knows Me" (please don't miss this album - its magic), Incognito's "Beneath The Surface" and Erykah Badu's "Think Twice". But also, I wanted to include some real classics and stylish songs, e.g. Lisa Ekdahl's "Rivers Of Love" or Chris Rea's "Josephine" on the one hand and Metro Area's "Soft Hoop" or Dobster's "COP" on the other hand. Therefore, it took quite a while to combine the different styles and - often understated - to give them the right order in the mix. What you will find now is a selection of different styles and songs in a mix indeed, but all of the songs have one thing in common: They serve a concept of relaxing lounge music and I hope you will like it - enjoy.
